InnSaga is a single-player cooking game where you influence the stories of the characters who visit your inn by serving them a dish of your choice. The goal was to create a cozy, immersive atmosphere that would draw the player into a branching narrative.
This feeling had to be conveyed not only through the visuals, but also through the gameplay — that’s why we aimed for a diegetic UI and intuitive mechanics that felt natural and intuitive.
MY ROLE
In this project, developed by a team of students using Unreal Engine, I was responsible for:
Designing all gameplay mechanics, with a particular focus on the cooking system
Balancing the experience through external playtesting sessions, including feedback gathered from public events where the game was showcased
Co-writing the Game Design Document and clearly documented core systems using spreadsheets and diagrams to support team communication and iteration
I also helped design a diegetic UI, aiming to reduce visual clutter and enhance player immersion
