Background


Vitamin C(entar) was designed based on the school`s needs.It improves our curriculum in relation to inclusion of students with learning difficulties, cogitive and behavioural issues. Thanks to the Erasmus+ program, students develop their potential, and teachers reduce the occurrence of undesirable and risky behaviors. By using modern tools, teachers can cope with the challenges of working with the aforementioned students. Through the Erasmus+ program, teachers and students are empowered in their work and the School gains a new European dimension. The school`s need is to participate in european trainings and courses and to implement examples of good practices which will be possible thanks to job shadowing and structured courses. The project empowers the new head of school and provides a clear vision for school management.The principal is in charge of developing a positive school atmosphere, and the exchange of knowledge and experience at the international level offers new opportunities.


ObjectiveS


By implementing the project,the school improves the skills and competencies of teachers for working with SEN students, adopts new tools and strategies for self-regulation of students' emotions and behavior, and improves management and leadership competencies. By implementing the results of the project, a paradigm shift occurs and overall teaching is improved. Consequently, our students feel empowered, as well as teachers . SEN students will achieve better results, improve their behavior and have better opportunities for development. There will be a progress in relation to their mental health, social competences and emotional intelligence. Furthermore, we improve the school's curriculum and organizational structure. impact the school success of SEN students, reduce unacceptable behaviors, promote diversity, student' s independence and self-confidence. With the project, we introduce changes in the everyday work and exchange of knowledge and experiences on an international level.


Activities


Each member of the team has clearly defined tasks. The aims of VITAMIN C(ENTAR) project are achieved by two job shadowing activities and by attending three structured courses. The English language and pedagogy teacher, also a homeroom teacher, will adopt new methods and strategies for working with SEN students. The Italian language teacher in the main and branch schools will attend a bibliotherapy course aimed at using children's literature as a tool for managing stress and developing social skills. The lower primary school teacher will attend a mindfulness course and adopt techniques of emotional control and empowerment, as well as techniques for focusing. The principal and social pedagogue of the school participate in the job shadowing activity, which enables the observation of high-quality school management, insight into examples of good practice, networking and improvement of their work domains. All planned mobilities are in accordance with the stated needs.


Impact


Participants will gain knowledge about students' difficulties and improve their competences for working with SEN students, adopt new strategies to help them regulate emotions and behavior and develop communication and social skills.After the mobilities, new tools will be included in school's strategic plan and curriculum. Students will increase their ability to self-regulate, accept differences, develop independence and self-confidence. Implementation of the project leads to methodical enrichment of educational content leading to greater success of our students. Workshops for parents will increase cooperation between parents and school. The head of school and social pedagogue will introduce changes in everyday work and improve the atmosphere, the feeling of belonging and job satisfaction. This project promotes inclusion and contributes to the European dimension of the school. By informing the public we ensure the sustainability and recognition of the project and the school.
