We have many volunteer opportunities available to the public besides our workdays. Email us if you are interested in volunteering for any of the below opportunities. These volunteer opportunities are generally full season (April-November)
Available opportunities other than workdays:
Website coordinator - keep our website up to date with workdays, history, donations/fundraisers and anything else that is interesting. Averages 1 hour or less a month.
Community weed patrol - pop into the garden and weed as needed - walkways, perennial beds, community areas, and school plots. Averages 4-8 hours a month.
Workday outreach - post about our workdays on social media or anywhere that may get more volunteers at the event! Averages 30 minutes or less a month.
School plot coordinator - assist the garden club and school teachers with the school plots. Attend the garden club meetings, plan school plots, help maintain school plots over the summer, and help with special garden club projects like the homecoming float, school outreach, fundraising, etc. Averages 4-8 hours a month.
Perennial tender - tend to the many perennials we have around the garden. Watering, weeding, and pruning as needed. Averages 2-3 hours a month.
Social media coordinator - post updates about the garden to our public facebook page once a week, and post upcoming workdays as needed. Averages 1 hour or less a month.
Community resource coordinator - pick up burlap from coffee roasters, cut them in half, and put into storage bags for later use. Recommended to check every other month for free burlap bags. Averages 1-2 hours a month.
Volunteer Community Garden leader - help with the plot registration process, organize garden events, keep the garden looking tidy and follow the DUG guidelines.
