Project 1 Review (Part 2)

The second project I chose to review was “Eat it” by Mirko Mantovani. It is an Alice in Wonderland inspired augmented reality project. I enjoyed getting to play around with this project and experience a day in wonderland.

This project was well created and created a fun whimsical atmosphere around the targets which I enjoyed.

I also really liked the interactions between the objects. The interactions worked well and the interactions between the cereal boxes and the place-mat was well designed in the way that the nutritious facts were displayed. Also the 3-D model he created of the mad hatter’s hat was very well designed and crafted.

Another thing I liked was the “cook book”. I think that it was a very clever idea and the page flipping animation worked very well. I do believe however that maybe the placement of the buttons to flip the pages should be flipped so it would be easier to use.

All in all, I liked this interpretation of a futuristic breakfast and how in the future it could be used to transform the way we have breakfast and it could transport us to a completely fictional and magical world while sitting in our kitchen.
