As an EMT, I learned many life lessons, including how to operate under high-stress situations, use my resources around me, and trust my intuition. I saw firsthand what the general public was suffering from, such as mental health, substance abuse disorders, and trauma. This experience prepared me to think clinically and use what resources I had, along with teamwork, when it came to saving lives in many different circumstances.
