Our film is to demonstrate the effects pollution has on our bodies of water and marine life. We have decided to share images and facts to show viewers how pollution is a huge environmental issue. Not only does pollution affect every area of earth, but it has a huge impact on aquatic life. The reason we as a group chose this topic, is to show all that pollution is a huge matter. We especially chose marine life because of how there could be such a relation between us to them.
Marine life has a variety of species living in the waters but every effect from these pollutions share an equal impact. Our intentions were to list types of pollutions and show their negative effects to animal health let alone the damage to their habitats. From small pollution as simple as plastic to radioactive pollution which is huge, we are hoping to influence viewers that not only does pollution come from us but it comes from bigger parties. Showing the negative side of these pollutants, we have shared our empathy. We are living species just like marine life, and what they go through with these types of pollution is similar to pollution that affects us. Showing images were intentional on the side of touching emotions within our viewers. Letting them view effects these pollutants have on marine life bodies can show how terrifying it would be for that to be us. Stating facts that tell the viewers how this happens, and how much of each pollutant takes a whole of the waters was intentional. All to tell viewers that this could take a stand. On the other side of wanting to push off such a fight to how bad these pollutants hurt, we also showed a positive side. In a glimpse of some photos shown, viewers will see a side that is more positive. Meaning more clean aspects of the ocean and marine life species and can give hope to the possibility that this can become a change. Seeing the two sides can hopefully touch a viewer and let them think about the next time they want to litter or even give them hope to want to put up a fight.
Not only did we want to have touching facts and images, we wanted to make our title grasp our viewers attention. “Roarin Waters” was well thought out as an attention grabber to give a hint that the oceans and species living in them are screaming for help. Help from us.
Overall, much of this film was time consuming. Trying to key in points that could narrow and tie down the topic was difficult because of the variety. Deciding to not put in voice overs was the sake of wanting it to be a full tune in to reading what is in front of the viewer. However, trying to meet with group members was difficult due to the lack of participation to who was going to contribute which made the video lack what was expected. But it did come out to be a very well put together film for the way we want our viewers to understand pollution effects.
