Using Chalk Paint

Clean the surface with a degreaser and a cloth to remove any dirt or grease.

Apply one or two coats of chalk paint with a brush, a roller, a sponge, or a spray can, depending on the effect you want. You don’t need to sand or prime the surface before painting, as chalk paint sticks to almost everything. Let the paint dry between coats.

If you want a distressed look, you can use a wet rag or a sanding block to rub off some of the paint along the edges or other areas where it would naturally wear off. You can also use two colors of chalk paint and sand down the top layer to reveal the bottom layer.

Seal the paint with a clear wax or lacquer to protect it and make it more durable and smooth. You can use a wax brush or a lint-free cloth to apply the wax and then wipe off the excess. You can also use dark wax or black wax to add more depth and contrast to the paint.
