At Verdugo Hills High School, they hosted their first Annual Science Fair. At the science fair, we built a full field where guests can come to see our robot in motion. This opportunity allows us to talk about the robot, the mechanisms, and stir interest in tech and robots.
To fit the science fair theme, we create a trifold poster that details our entire season journey, as well as our engineering portfolio. We pass out keychains of our logo to draw people towards our table and challenge them to play the season's game.
In addition to our field set, the science fair allows our individual members to showcase their own individual research and how they can used the values of FIRST to solve world problems. We encourage our robotics upperclassmen to think beyond the scope of FIRST competitions and view robotics in a different lens that can help our community and society.
His science fair project is about designing running shoes to help runners avoid overpronation. The experience in the design process aided the initial creation of the design, and through those concept sketches, he is able to build his first prototype.
