The Judicial branch of Versmark is in charged with the fair and unbiased carrying out of the judicial process as outlined in the Judicial Procedure Manual and the Constitution of Versmark.
The Ministry of Justice is entrusted with the management of prosecution, records documentation and scheduling for cases.
The Supreme Court of Versmark is the highest court in the Judicial branch. It deals cases of the highest importance, or ones that have been elevated from lower courts, such as appeals.
The Supreme Court is chaired by the High Magistrate who is the highest-ranking justice in the nation. The High Magistrate is appointed by the Sovereign at his pleasure. The High Magistrate has the power to appoint lesser court Magistrates. The current High Magistrate is Mats Seifert.
A Court of First Instance is where cases arrive originally after being filed by the Ministry of Justice. Here all cases shall move through the process outlined in the Judicial Procedure Manual.
Magistrates of the Court of First Instance are appointed by the High Magistrate. Courts of First Instance can be dissolved or created by the High Magistrate.
