Some of the most intact buildings on the West Rutland site involve the old administrative buildings of the Sheldon Marble Co., including the Company Store and Coping Shop that are used for program by the Carving Studio and Sculpture Center today as well as the Carpentry Shed and no longer standing office building.
The H.H. Brown Company Store was built in 1855 and made of marble. It remained the cooperative store through changes in management until 1922, after which it was used for storage.
The Coping Shop was built around 1890 made of stone with a tar and gravel roof.
The Sheldon Marble Co.'s office was a one and a half story mansard roof building headed by a hot air furnace and lighted by electricity in 1892, though it no longer stands.
In addition to the Company Store and Coping Shop, one of the few remaining buildings is the Carpentry Shed on the southern end of the site; now used for storage by the Carving Studio and Sculpture Center.
