APRIL 21 UPDATE FROM RITA NOGUCHI:
We are receiving a lot of different information calling World Strides. See below the different answers. If you truly want the refund to be processed, I would still call. I spoke to Mark Keeton and he saids there is a group of chaperones that really want this to happen and are trying to hold onto things up to June or July. The World Strides person working with Vista is Gwynn. A parent was told they had the option to hold onto their payment to see if there’s a trip at a later date to determine refund. I talked to a Bill this morning...this is what he said:
-Doesn’t see Disneyland opening until August.
-Everyone will automatically be refunded in the next 6-8 weeks regardless if you called to request a refund.
-Everyone will receive the same $315 refund regardless if you paid the insurance. Naturally they would deduct $100 instead of $30. Out of good faith and credit card fees etc. In good faith that was the best they could do to be fair.
-If you paid by check, your refund may take a little longer than someone that used a credit card because of the process. All depends on payment, but we should all get a refund 6-8 weeks, possibly earlier.
Best further clarification as of now is to email Mark Keeton at mkeeton@fcusd.org.
APRIL 20 UPDATE FROM RITA NOGUCHI:
Here are some answers I was able to get with World Strides-Disney Grad trip. 1) There will be letter or email sent shortly to families. 2) Everyone will be refunded, no need to call (unless you want confirmation now). 3) Takes 6-8 weeks for refund. 4) If a 2nd trip is planned, it will be up to our coordinator Mark Keeton. Most likely will not be like a Disney Grad type but a Class trip. Mark Keeton would be the contact person for any of those questions. Anyone that has more helpful information, please post. World Strides Travel: (916) 939-6805 #4 or (888) 877-4445 (both numbers get routed to the same place). Your $30 is not refundable.
