MAY 6 EMAIL FROM VISTA HEAD COUNSELOR JULIE WERNER
Parents of the Class of 2020,
Today you received an email regarding the senior survey from Karen Reid, our Career Center Clerk. I would like to apologize on her behalf as well as the counseling and administration teams for the wording of this email.
We will not be holding caps and gowns from our seniors. We will be pushing out information at a later date for senior item pick up, but we will not be keeping caps and gowns from students who do not complete the survey.
The senior survey generates a list for our registrar for where to send a student’s final transcript. This is a critical piece that those attending college will need from us. Without a completed survey, we do not know where to send the transcript. This makes completing the survey important. The survey also collects data from your student for future graduates as to where our students apply and our admits rates.
In previous years we gave students their tickets for the graduation ceremony as soon as the survey was completed. The cap and gown was mistakenly used instead for our current situation. This never should have happened. Instead, for those students who have yet to complete the survey at the time of diploma pick up, they will be asked to log in to complete the survey at that time.
We know that this has caused more undo stress to students and families at an already difficult time and we are deeply sorry. We humbly ask that you work with your senior to complete the survey. The survey can be found in your student’s Naviance account under "List of important things to do." If you are unable to log into Naviance, please email Karen Reid for a new log in. If you have questions or concerns for where to find the survey or how to complete it, please contact Karen Reid at Kreid@fcusd.org.
Thank you,
Julie Werner, Head Counselor, Vista del Lago High School
