Crowd Control

Temples and other places of worship in protected areas are prone to high assemblage of people which together with its associated practices result in several detrimental effects on wildlife such Human induced habitat modification, Edge effect, Soil, water and noise pollution etc. Forest fires are a major risk during the festivities.

Littering of plastic waste which does get cleared and food littering that in turn attracts animals laying ground for man-animal conflict. Movement of vehicles in large numbers causes disturbance and pollution.

While it could not possible to stop such festivities from occurring, several restrictions can be imposed to deter picnickers and miscreants.

Most of the check-posts already have a timing in effect to restrict vehicle movement from 6-6 which can be further strengthened by participating groups. Furthermore checking of vehicles at the gate can be carried out to eliminate plastic sources. A strict ban on plastic usage and venturing inside forests can be implemented. Similarly movement of large private vehicles can be stopped to allow only public mass transports to hold accountability.

These various measures have been successfully implemented by us at BR Temple and Siddeshwara and Adani Maramma temple in BRT.
