As the saying goes, “It's up to you today to start making healthy choices. Not choices that are just healthy for your body, but healthy for your mind.”
With school and other personal commitments getting more taxing and overwhelming over the years, I find myself putting my health on the back burner at times. And I believe many of us are guilty of taking our health for granted at times.
Before it gets out of hand, I thought it was time to put my priorities in check - to do something for my health, physically and mentally...
I needed to relax, take a break and relieve stress.
Hence, my close friend and I decided to actively engage in activities that focuses on health and wellness purposes. More specifically, we picked-up boxing, yoga and gym classes together at Box Office Fitness, AMORE Fitness and Ritual Gym.
Through these new and exciting experiences, we had definitely grown stronger and fitter. Apart from seeing the positive outwardly progress, we have grown to witness the other positive effects exercising have on our mental well-being - being more positive and happy as well as leading more fulfilling lives. Moreover, we have grown attached and develop fondness towards the classes that once we missed out on any lessons, we would feel disheartened.
Beyond that, I learnt that it is so easy for most of us to overlook our health and get all swarmed up with our many commitments in our daily lives, but learning to know when to draw the line and take a break is so important for one's overall well-being. Its a valuable part of having a positive work-life balance too!
Anything can happen; Life is just too precious and fragile for us to neglect and take it for granted.
A healthy body and mind creates a healthier, happier and more productive life! ~
