In a study done by NYU (New York University), college students are now reporting being more stressed-out than ever before. College students can experience stress related to many different things such as lifestyle, increased work loads, new responsibilities and relationships. Higher than normal stress levels can cause burnout and hinder work output. This can lead to a downward spiral of poor academic performance and well-being. Incorporating strategies to help with stress can help avoid the destructive consequences of stress.
