Here are a few emails that we sent our to businesses.
Dear Ms. Sherwood,
My name is Sally Student. I am student from the UW Lab School. Our middle school has been working to try to get rid of polystyrene (Styrofoam) clam-shell take out boxes. We are using the Project Citizen framework. Project Citizen is a curriculum designed to help the community. We are hoping that you would be willing to form a partnership with us.
We were wondering if we could have a small group of students meet with you in the near future to discuss a possible partnership. Having a partnership would help get rid of Styrofoam take out boxes from our local business community. We would like to help local businesses transition into biodegradable take out containers and to eliminate Styrofoam containers, while also ensuring that businesses have recycling containers. Mayor Summerville suggested that if we want to have a better chance of achieving our goal we should try to make a partnership with you. With your help we would be able to decrease the amount of polystyrene in our landfills.
If you have any questions or if you would like more information please contact my teacher Ms. Malarki at her email msmalarki@acsd1.org. You can also contact our school at ------------. We would be willing to meet any school day from 8:00- 3:00. If you are not able to meet then, we are willing to meet outside of school. Thank you for your time. We hope to meet with you soon.
Sincerely,
Sally Student
