Restaurant management system's are used by people working in the restaurant industry, while employees of all types use them, the users we wished to focus on were waiters and waitresses.
We chose to focus specifically on this group of people because we learned that they rely the most heavily on the RMS, and changes made would benefit them the most.
Furthermore, the target user was cemented after analyzing the data from our formative user research studies which we conducted in the form of a survey. More information on the survey can be read here.
In addition to our groups survey, I conducted a one-to-one interview with a classmate who worked as a waitress. This allowed me to ask personalized questions as well as follow up questions, allowing me to gain a deeper understanding of topic.
Here is the user-persona that we made as a group. It showcases our finalized user persona. She is a waitress in a restaurant that utilizes a restaurant management system, and wishes that the system included additional dependencies to increase collaboration.
Here is my initial individual user-persona. This was completed prior to our team decision to focus on servers.
