Redmond Inc.
Redmond Inc. is a Utah-based company that started in the agriculture industry and has expanded into multiple other areas. They now have expanded to health and food stores, vinyl fencing, natural products, and mineral supplements. They are determined to help people live intentionally and create a life full of possibility. With around 140 employees CEO Rhett Roberts has to find a way to manage and help all employees be successful. He does this with team managers. We will be working closely with the sales team manager as well as the culture team manager.
At Redmond, we believe we can go further by working together as a team. We have been experiencing individuals feeling underappreciated as we have focused on the results of the team over the individual contribution of a team member. We are exploring ways for highly motivated individuals that have a promoter mentality, to feel appreciated within a “team first” approach. As we have been working on this, we have found that some of these individuals are seeking out individual credit for the economic outcomes of a team. The problem - helping an individual be seen for their contribution without calling out their performance and diminishing the results of the others on the team. Looking for ways that our team leaders can help high-performing individuals feel heard and seen as they contribute to a team, rather than furthering their ambitions within the organization. Redmond believes that compensation should not be the primary reward/motivator for individual and collective team success. The purpose and vision of an individual’s contribution to corporate success are paramount as one of the primary motivators for an individual’s contribution. “Calling out” great performance has been having an adverse effect on other individuals within the team. How do we solve this problem?

We will use interviews with employees of various positions to gain insights into how business is conducted. This will give us qualitative data on how the business is run and what objectives they have. It will be especially useful to learn what methods they use to ensure company goals are being met.
The second method we will use to gather data is through statements and reports that the company allows us to access. We want to find out what the business is doing and what results their methods are giving. We will get what we can to learn about how the business is organized.
