About Me

photo: R. Farrell - Absaroka Mountains, Wyoming

Hi, my name is Remy Farrell! I am from upstate New York and I am the youngest of four sisters (five, if you consider my family's black lab named Olive). I am a Senior studying Geology and Studio Art at the University of Vermont. I love doing all types of art and spending time outdoors. I enjoy backpacking, camping, hiking, skiing, running, travelling, and swimming. I also enjoy more static activities such as sewing, thrift shopping, photography, video editting, and watching videos and films. I really enjoy learning and I am always looking for new projects to work on. In the Fall of 2019, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy and took a trip to Naples, where I had the opportunity to hike to the top of Mount Vesuvius. Although, I find volcanoes to be very fascinatinating and amazing, I have an undying obsession and love for glaciers. I think that it is remarkable how glaciers have formed and shaped our earth, and left their mark all across the country and the world. I am excited to take this course to get another requirement behind me and to learn a lot more about various geologic processes.

I am easily distracted, I love art and rocks, and have a habit of rambling on, here is an example:
