Meet the Tutors!
Hi! My name is David. I am a 3rd year Math student who loves teaching calculus. A couple years ago I won the Mark Mintenko Scholarship for excellence in Calc 2. Other interests of mine include hiking, piano, and chess (feel free to reach out if interested in chess coaching!). I can do online or in-person tutoring - whatever works best for you.

I am a PhD graduate from the ECE at UVic. During my PhD, I was a TA in both the ECE Department and Department of Math and Stats. I was a tutorial TA for many 2nd and 3rd year ECE courses and 1st and 2nd year math courses. So I know what the material is and what your prof expects from you in your assignments, midterms, and finals. My students have always been happy with my tutorials and tutoring style. A testimony to this is that, based on their evaluations, I received the Graduate Student Excellence in Teaching Award three times. If you’re looking for someone who can explain your course material from different angles, is patient and listens to your questions and pinpoints exactly where you’re struggling, I can be of help to you.

I completed my master's in mechanical engineering at UVic in September 2023. Teaching is my passion, and I have experience instructing courses such as CAD software, Statics, and Thermodynamics. During my two-year master's program, I had the teaching assistant position for ENGR 141 and MECH 240 multiple times, and that has given me a lot of experience teaching these courses. I continuously improve my teaching style based on student feedback, emphasizing interactivity and active participation. Outside of academics, I enjoy reading, hiking, listening to music, and watching movies and TV shows.
