Hi my name is Bea and I love to code. Before I came to Uvic, I was a climbing coach and learned a lot about how to make concepts approachable to people at any stage of comprehension. In my free time I like to rock climb (in the mountains if I can!), listen to music and play dnd.

I teach concepts using a combination of literal code examples and diagrams so I prefer to teach in-person, but, I have no problem teaching online as well. If you would like some help, feel free to send me a note.

I really enjoy teaching and was tutoring a grade 11 student AP calculus and AP physics last school year. I’m patient and responsible, and will make sure that you understand the concepts before we move on!

I’m a second year civil engineering student with an 8+ GPA. I can help with PHYS 110 and 111, Calc 1, 2, 3 and 4, ENGR 141, MATH 110 and STAT 254. I got A+ in all these courses, the 2 highest are PHYS 110 (99%) and Calc 3 (100%).

I can do 1) in-person lessons and 2) online lessons (zoom/discord). If you are busy and don’t want a full 2 hour lesson or just want to ask a few quick questions, 3) you can send me your questions and I’ll reply as soon as possible. Let me know if it’s urgent, but when you need help with homework or labs, please don’t send questions to me one minute before the deadline!! I won’t have enough time to respond!

For the 3rd option, don’t worry I will keep track of the time, won’t charge you more I promise. I did this with the student I mentioned at the beginning and it worked perfectly fine.

I am a PhD graduate from the ECE at UVic. During my PhD, I was a TA in both the ECE Department and Department of Math and Stats. I was a tutorial TA for many 2nd and 3rd year ECE courses and 1st and 2nd year math courses. So I know what the material is and what your prof expects from you in your assignments, midterms, and finals. My students have always been happy with my tutorials and tutoring style. A testimony to this is that, based on their evaluations, I received the Graduate Student Excellence in Teaching Award three times. If you’re looking for someone who can explain your course material from different angles, is patient and listens to your questions and pinpoints exactly where you’re struggling, I can be of help to you.
