Songs About Freedom Sing-Along Event

SPECIAL EVENT

Song Circle - Songs About Freedom Sing-Along

Friday February 16, 7-9 PM

Sanctuary

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Centre County

780 Waupelani Drive

State College, Pennsylvania

UUFCC members and friends of all ages are invited to join Song Circle strummers and singers for an informal 'Songs About Freedom' -themed sing-along that will sample a wide range of perspectives on freedom, including a set of African American Freedom songs selected by UUFCC Music Director Colleen.

To get started at this event we will follow a Core Music Program of 8 Songs for the Event.  After that individuals will be able to select from Other 'Freedom' Songs in our Song Sheet Collections.  Typically we take turns going around our circle of chairs.

The UUFCC Song Circle is first and foremost a monthly gathering for participatory community music, so people of all strumming and singing skill levels are welcome.  Our atmosphere is relaxed - we aim for music fun and music expression and not music perfection.  No practicing is required, but for this gathering and all others, individuals can choose to use the resources on this Song Circle website to prepare themselves to sing, strum, or even lead a song at the gathering.

This is one event in the series of February 2024 events that make up the UUFCC IMAGINE & DREAM Lantern Festival.  A couple of the selected songs will also be featured in the IMAGINE & DREAM Worship Service on Sunday February 25, 2024.
