Teaching couple's contract with current employer ends on 30th June 2025
While many recognize the iconic lab coat, my role extends far beyond the experiments and equations that fill science classrooms. I wear numerous hats, each contributing to the dynamic landscape of education. Allow me to introduce you to the multi-faceted world of a Physics and STEAM teacher, Cambridge Exams Officer, and Head of Science Department.
Since 2019, I've donned the official hat of the Cambridge Exams Officer. This entails meticulously orchestrating the smooth execution of Checkpoint, O Level, IGCSE, AS, and A Level examinations. From meticulously preparing for each exam day to ensuring adherence to regulations, it's a responsibility I carry with meticulous attention to detail. I troubleshoot emergencies, address irregularities, and oversee the secure handling of scripts, guaranteeing fairness and integrity throughout the assessment process.
But my responsibilities extend beyond external exams. As Head of Science Department since 2015, I lead a dedicated team of educators who ignite young minds with the wonders of science. My leadership encompasses curriculum development, ensuring every lesson, from Year 1 to 12, aligns with the school's strategic vision and empowers students to achieve excellence. Collaboration is key, and I work hand-in-hand with teachers to design vibrant, engaging programs, culminating in exciting events like field trips, science fairs, and competitions.
However, my contributions don't stop there. I actively participate in the school's Executive Committee, utilizing my experience to contribute to the broader vision and decision-making. Regular reports I produce provide valuable insights into students' performance and progress, informing strategic adjustments and ensuring continuous improvement.
This unique combination of roles allows me to see the bigger picture. I witness the impact of strong curricula on exam success, understand the challenges teachers face, and contribute to the school's overall direction. The journey may be multifaceted, but the underlying thread remains constant: a fervent passion for nurturing scientific curiosity, equipping students with knowledge, and fostering a love for lifelong learning.
So, the next time you see me, remember – I'm not just a teacher in a lab coat. I'm an organizer, a leader, a collaborator, and an advocate, striving to create an environment where science thrives, exams are navigated with confidence, and young minds embark on a journey of discovery, one equation and experiment at a time.
Every June Exam Series, as the Exams Officer, I meticulously orchestrates the smooth execution of
external tests/examinations i.e. Checkpoint, O Level, IGCSE, AS, and A Level examinations, and
internal end-of-term exams i.e. CA1, MYE, CA2, and EOYE.

When the pandemic shut down schools and disrupted traditional examinations, I knew we had to adapt. Stepping beyond my regular duties, Recognizing the need for a safe and reliable solution, I proposed a system of online assessment and online invigilation. This audacious proposal, met with initial skepticism, eventually garnered approval and became our reality.
Implementing this system wasn't easy. It required meticulous planning, rigorous training for invigilators and students, and constant communication with Cambridge authorities. We navigated unfamiliar technologies, addressed concerns about fairness and security, and ensured data integrity throughout the process.
