This conference aims to bring together researchers exploring how phonological patterns emerge from usage-based processes, focusing on empirical, theoretical, and computational perspectives. The conference is open to diverse methodologies for investigating the effects of use on phonological systems including:
Laboratory experiments
Corpus-based studies
Field studies
Computational approaches (e.g., agent-based modeling)
Engagement with perspectives from related disciplines such as cognitive science, neuroscience, and psychology
Students can register to attend a one hour faculty-student mentoring lunch for USD $10, which includes a box lunch. Participation is capped at 25 students. See registration page for lunch options. This event will be held from 12:15 - 1:15 pm in Crater Lake South Room in the Erb Memorial Union (EMU) "student union" building (see map).
