The Undergraduate Research Symposium at UMSL provides a professional-style venue for undergraduates to present their original research, scholarship, and creative works to faculty, staff, administrators, students, and visitors. Presentations may be in either oral or poster format. The event takes place annually near the end of the Spring semester. The next URS is April 27, 2018.

What sets our conference apart from others are the resources that we provide to the student participants. For example, if your project is submitted on time and needs to be revised, we will make clear recommendations so you have a chance to revise and resubmit. We provide online resources for writing abstracts, creating posters, and presenting your work orally. Additionally, workshops are offered by UMSL faculty and staff that cover the best practices for writing abstracts and presenting your work. We strive to provide undergraduates the support they need to have a successful academic conference experience.
