Darin is a sixth generation Fort Worthian who is committed to the preservation of the city's unique identity and to the continued vibrancy of its cultural development. With over twenty years of architectural and real estate experience, Darin aligns his passions for smart design and community enhancement through the use of New Urbanism "best practices".
Darin is the father of two boys, an outdoor enthusiast, urban explorer, and a not-so-secret film fanatic. Darin believes that placemaking is story-telling, and if done right, will contribute compelling, vibrant chapters to our lives. Every destination is home for a while, and every journey earns the right to be there.
After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a Masters in Architecture, Darin worked for several years with Rafael Vinoly Architects in New York City. Upon his return home, he worked with Carter & Burgess before beginning a tenure in development consulting with TownSite Company. In pursuit of more development and design opportunities, he formed Urbanworth, LLC and Darin Norman Architecture in 2018.
Darin serves on the City of Fort Worth’s Urban Infill Development Taskforce and contributes to the Development Advisory Committee and the Mixed-Use Zoning Advisory Group. He is also on the Board of Directors for River District FW, Inc, the non-profit organization charged with the revitalization and public improvement planning for the River District neighborhood. Additionally, he is a Van Zandt Homestead board member, where he coordinates stakeholder interests with City transportation and park planning.
