Upson Environmental & Government Transparency LLC was  formed in reaction to a proposed plastic pyrolysis facility in Thomaston, Georgia in June 2024. 

Individuals, concerned about the environmental impact that such company presented and the lack of transparency by local governmental authorities, formed this group to tackle topics like protecting the environment of the community, strongly encouraging government transparency, and community involvement in local government decisions as they relate to the community.
