THE VISION BEHIND THIS PROGRAM IS TO CULTIVATE STUDENTS' ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSETS AND TEACH THEM CRITICAL LIFE TOOLS THAT AREN'T TRADITIONALLY TAUGHT IN SCHOOLS.

Uplift Our Youth Program Overview
1. Its 100% FREE!
2: It' all Virtual or in person
3: Open to all Elementary Middle school and High school students or home school students in Leon County.
4: Students anywhere can attend (target for diverse, low income and children of color)
5: We are teaching the things that are not taught in most schools (life skills, entrepreneurship, STEM, life after high school, college preparation, ) but also providing tutoring in core subjects for struggling low income students.
6: All courses are taught by professionals in that field.
Eligibiltiy Requirements:
1. Proof of legal residency in Leon County.
2. Enrollment in a Leon County School District elementary, middle or high school. You can also be enrolled in a homeschool setting.
3. A completed application for enrollment in the ULA.
4. Access to a computer/device and reliable internet connection.
5. Commitment to complete classes and respect staff at all times.
REGISTRATION
1.Process:
Review the Profile of a Successful Student to determine if online learning is a good fit for the student, as this model of learning is not for everyone.

Enroll in a course or schedule a consult with school admin counselor about interest in ULA courses.

We reviewed data gathered from different communities, to find out what they wished they had learned during adolescence. The overwhelming majority responded with:
Financial Literacy
Leadership and Critical Thinking
Coding 101
College Preparation
Graphic Design
Public Speaking
Entrepreneurship/Business Principles and Foundations/How To Start a Business
Additional Lifeskills (budgeting, Growth Mindset, Dealing with COVID, etc)
Tutoring for children struggling in core subjects
STEM
With that information in hand, we decided to create a program that would fill those educational gaps and give them a head start in their adult years. With this information not being taught in schools and most parents lacking the knowledge themselves, we strive to help underprivilieged youth with these life-altering building blocks that are not available or limited within our community.
We are seeking to ENHANCE the mind sets of students, by teaching them life skills they can carry with them and in turn become positive assets to their schools and communities.
Course Outline:
The courses length will vary, depending on the instructor's course outline. The classes will be held online via Zoom. Each course will be 45 minutes to 1 hour long.

Tutoring: Tutoring for children struggling in core subjects. Tutoring is availabe from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm via Zoom or in person (via appointment only) for free.
15+ SUBJECTS
We have tutors in Math, Science, Reading and Writing, College Counseling, and SAT Prep.
Grades: Elementary, Middle and High School
Partnership:
We continually partner with schools and small businesses for each project we create because we feel that small businesses are essential to the community. With that being the case, each class would be taught by an entrepreneur or experience teacher specializing in that particular field.
It is our goal to have at least a 95% retention rate.
