Uplift Learning Academy is an online platform providing virtual classes, designed and developed by professional educators, to help regular online schooling students & homeschoolers learn best within their comfort zone. We also offer face to face classes for local learners.
The journey to our ULA started in 2021. Due to COVID-19 we switched many of our nonprofit programs to virtual services as well as learning model to provide uninterrupted quality education to students. However, we also observe many children in proverty couldn't afford to participate in many tutoring or online lifeskill courses despite the response of parents being interested in the educational services being offered.
The Founder Director, LaShundra Williams, envisions bringing real-time, skills-based online academic education while inculcating strong value systems in kids to appreciate human relationships & survival at large. Gradually we are building a team of leaders, academicians, entrepreneurs, educators who believes in innovating brilliant ideas that work for the whole child approach through the medium of education.
Our vision is to reach students locally and world wide to help them build skills & values that set them up for success in their future endeavors. We want to live in a world where you don’t need wealthy or educated parents to achieve your academic goals. We’ll make this a reality by ensuring every student in target areas can access high-quality academic support anytime, anywhere, and from any device.
Our mission is to provide skills-based, fun-filled, interactive, real-time applicable stimulating learning experiences to students, that promotes their cognitive, emotional, physical and spiritual development. To democratize access to academic support so that all students have an equal opportunity to finish high school, attend college, and achieve upward mobility.
Uplift Community Outreach is our local nonprofit that serves underprivilieged families in Leon County. Uplift Our Youth Program is a program that gives low-income students immediate, free or low cost access to academic support in order to help them on their path to obtaining a college degree. In 10 years, we hope to ensure that every low-income youth in the US can access free, high-quality academic support anytime, anywhere, and from any device.
Using our free, online platform, low-income students can request help in a specific subject (e.g., Algebra) any time they need it, even at night. ULA then pairs the student with a volunteer tutor or teacher.

Our 2030 goal: Scale ULA to all 4 million low-income school students in the US.
For students enrolled in our online schools, learning happens at home, on the road, or wherever an Internet connection can be found, although many of the lessons use offline materials and tools as well. Attendance, teacher interaction, and daily lessons are all conducted online.
Classes are delivered live online by our experienced & highly-qualified educators. Students are taught in the scheduled classrooms, any day of the week. Learners are active agents who bring their own knowledge, past experiences, education, and ideas – and this impacts how they take on board new information and learn. Our qualified and experienced educators then extends learning by demonstrating the lesson with thoughtfully pre-planned engaging resources and interactive content to keep students focused. Students may then be set to work in class activities, shared tasks, individual tasks and sometimes working in groups thereby enhancing their socialization & interpersonal skills.
During the online live session, your child can communicate with the educator and other students through media like voice, text, whiteboard, demonstrations, presentations and screen sharing. Educators will constantly monitor students interaction and respond to their questions. The absence of distractions or disruptions enables educators to devote themselves entirely to teaching and learning. Being a part of virtual classroom, your child can exchange ideas, culture, traditions etc. that can help him to develop strong interpersonal skill, a trait leaders vouch for.
This plan is great for traditional, homeschool students or any student interest in a live class for academic studies, live skills, gaming, virtual field trips and much more, just at the comfort of your home.
Working with Teachers
Although parents serve as the primary learning coach for their students and help manage their student's schedule, ensuring that work is completed at a reasonable pace, they are never alone in the education process.
An experienced teacher is assigned to each classand communicates with parents and students on a regular basis through e-mail, classroom messages and online meetings. Teachers remain constantly involved: they monitor progress, ensure mastery, and develop specific intervention plans when a child is struggling, and manage all facets of the instructional experience.
Online Live Lessons.
Each online live class or lesson provides the roadmap for the entire lesson, including: direction to specific online and offline materials, online lesson content, and a summary of the major objectives for the lesson. Lessons utilize a combination of innovative technologies: flash animations and online interactivity, coordinated textbooks and hands-on materials, and individualized feedback to create an engaging, responsive, and highly effective curriculum. Each lesson also contains an online assessment to ensure that students have mastered the material and are ready to proceed to the next lesson, allowing them to work at their own pace. Pronunciation guides for key words and references to suggested additional resources, specific to each lesson and each student’s assessment, are also included.
Offline Learning Kits.
ULA may utilize a series of offline learning kits in conjunction with the online lessons to help maximize the effectiveness of the learning system. In addition to receiving access to online lessons through the Internet, each student may require offline materials, including textbooks, art supplies, laboratory supplies (e.g. microscopes and scales), and other reference materials, which are incorporated throughout the online school’s curriculum.
