In September 2018 we founded Springfield/Eugene-area Editors (SEE), a monthly networking, educational, and mentoring group. We grew it from the half-dozen local members of the Northwest Editors Guild to its current 55+ members, many with 20 or more years of editorial experience.
The group currently meets for lunch on the second Tuesday of each month. We have a featured guest each month, who speaks for about 20 minutes, offering a compelling reason for new members to attend as well as guaranteeing a fresh educational component to keep longtime members returning for new information and experiences.

For more of our events, see our Meetup page. Notes from some of our lunch hours are here.
The current membership includes editors who are affiliated with the Northwest Editors Guild, Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA), and ACES: The Society for Editing as well as many who are unaffiliated. Most are independent (freelancers), work remotely, or are semi-retired, so they particularly value the opportunity for professional and social connection.
A milestone in the first six months has been the development of the Springfield/Eugene-area Editors Directory (SEED), an online resource for writers, businesses, and others seeking local editors.
