Spain 8th-12th October 2019
On 5th June we met the parents of the students travelling to Spain in order to explain them how the mobility will be run
8th October: arriving in Pontedeume
Here we are at the airport and just after leaving our luggages at the check-in desk ...

We have just arrived in Pontedeume
First we eat something with our teachers...
... and then we are ready to have a walk along the river Eume
At 7 o'clock we are taken to Casa da Cultura for the welcoming event
A folkloristic group is waiting for us outside Casa da Cultura: they're going to play their typical instruments for us
9th October: first day of activities - traditional songs
All the students from CPR San José are here to listen to traditional songs
We sing "Bella ciao", that partners know: they sing with us

9th October: first workshop - necklaces and Celts
This is the material to make our own necklaces with Celtic symbols: flour, glue, vaseline
We mix glue and flour
We add vaseline
After modeling the dough, we draw our favorite Celtic symbol and color the necklace
9th October: food tasting
Teachers are preparing the food: every Country presents its own traditional food, and we taste different recipes
Spanish food :)

We are modeling the wall of Lugo, that we're going to visit on Friday

A CORUNA: the Castle
We are now at A Coruna, and we visit the Castle, an ancient fortress which is now a Museum

We can see the Tower on the top of the hill!!!
This is Breogan, one of the most revered medieval kings: a Celtic King who claimed to see Ireland from Hercules Tower. He wanted to conquer it!
We are finally near the tower. It is an ancient roman lighthouse. The external parts were renovated during the late 18th Century

SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
Before visiting the city we have lunch at Parador, the Pilgrims' House
In the afternoon we visit the Cathedral: what an emotion to be here!
One of the many pilgrims we see in Santiago: every one of them has the typical seashell that represents them
We admire the ancient portal of the Cathedral, but we aren't allowed to take pictures ... nonetheless ... it is beautifully sculpted! (to show it to you we use pictures found on the net ... )

11th October: third day of activities. Visiting Lugo
Our trip to Lugo begins with this kind of weather!!!
...but when we arrive in Lugo, the sun welcomes us! We are just outside the Roman walls and we are going to enter
Now we climb up the walls and take a ride along the ancient defensive structure
We are now in the City center, under the statues of the emperors: Ceasar Augustus and Fabius Maximus Paulo

12th October: time to say goodbye
On this day in the morning we meet outside the hotel where our teachers stayed. We are with our hosting friends and their families ... it's time to say goodbye ...

... our flight takes us home
