Capoeira Fighter 3: Ultimate World Tournament is a 2v2 tag team fighter made and released by Spiritonin Media on November 3, 2007 with influence from Street Fighter Alpha, Tekken and the developer's (Scott Stoddard) experiences with Capoeira. The game was made entirely using Adobe Shockwave and is known as one of the best Flash fighting games.
There are two versions of the game, the online Flash version and the PC version. Both are the same, but the web version has all the characters unlocked. The game has a roster of 29 characters, 8 magic powers to choose from and 10 different modes of play. The game also has a 4 player mode where each player controls one character.
The game was released various times in different forms and with different publishers. They released the game with WildTangent, Shockwave.com and as a stand-alone cd version you could order online as well as various demos and "mini-game" versions on shockwave.com. The last version of Capoeira Fighter 3 ended up being the "Ultimate Free Web Version" which people could find online to play.
The first two versions differ in the fact that some cheats dont function, many characters are missing or are missing parts of their moveset, and the fact that some characters have different designs that were changed in the latest version. While at first glance the game seems to use 2d sprites, the game actually uses 3d models made to look like 2d sprites this allowed the developers (primarily Scott Stoddard) to make the process faster and allow different lighting depending on the stage the characters are in. This game is an example of what amazing things could be done utilizing adobe flash/shockwave.
