Research Practices Capstone Project
Research Practices Capstone Project
General Statements:
Although your Research Practices (RP) Capstone Project may be related to research interests and activities in other components of the MS-ARP (such as research activities within your internship), your self-directed final project must be a distinct research endeavor in terms of its goals and deliverables. The final project is a two-semester commitment.
Associated Coursework:
MS-ARP students must enroll in the final project course series (ARCH 5686 and ARCH 5687) for the first and second semesters of the final project work. ARCH 5686 and ARCH 5687 structure your final research project work and are offered in both fall and spring semesters.
For example, as part of ARCH 5686, you will develop a Research Project Work Plan that is specific to the research proposed and implemented as part of your self-directed final project. This work plan will identify your research interests, project goals and specific milestones, planned activities and methods, and how the project relates to but is distinctly different from, other MS-ARP activities. The work plan may also address whether the project is appropriate for broader public dissemination. Refer to assignment prompts and/or each course syllabus for details and specific milestone dates related to the final project.
