Apologies - we never really set the scene very well at the start. So here is some background information on what we know at this point.
EVENT DAY
Arcade Club have told us they will provide 8 Donkey Kong Cabinets on the Stage on the 2nd Floor on the day! Thank you so much Arcade Club!
The opening hours on Sunday are 11am to 8pm - so we are having to work within that time frame. So please aim to be there for when the doors open at 11am as we will look to get the tournament kicked off shortly after!
FORMAT
The above mentioned opening hours sort of dictates the format that we will aim to use.

As mentioned, doors open at 11am so we will aim to kick off at 11:30am
ROUND ONE (32 players)
11:30am - 3:30pm
Each player has 1 hour on a cabinet (with as many credits as you like) to post their best score.
In order to achieve getting through 32 players with 8 cabinets - it would mean 4 "sittings" of 1 hour for 8 players.
Hence this round will take 4 hours to give all 32 players a 1 hour game
RESULT: The top 16 -players with the best scores go through...
ROUND TWO (16 players)
3:30pm - 5:30pm
Each player has 1 hour on a cabinet (with as many credits as you like) to post their best score.
In order to achieve getting through 16 players with 8 cabinets - it would mean 2 "sittings" of 1 hour for 8 players.
Hence this round will take 2 hours to give all 16 players a 1 hour game
RESULT: The top 8 -players with the best scores go through to the FINAL...
FINAL (8 players) ---8 players all in a row on the 8 cabinets on the stage ---
5:30pm - 7:30pm
Each player has 2 hours on a cabinet (with as many credits as you like) to post their best score.
The winner is the one with the highest score - simple as that.
This means plenty of time for the top players to post some monster scores - and even killscreens!?
This is what the public want to see when they come to watch - the best players getting huge scores and showing how to play Donkey Kong!
MARQUEE
We have finalised the design of the custom marquee for the event - as is traditional at a Kong Off!

If you would be interested in buying a marquee for yourself - please email me at the address shown in the registration form and i will add you to a list.
The plan (emphasis on still an idea at this point) - is to get a bulk print run in place nearer the time - so we maybe able to offer them at their cost price of £20. We would then need to take payment from you BEFORE putting the print order in with our supplier - with a view of then handing them to you at the event.
But in the meantime feel free to email me with a request to be added to the list. I would contact everyone ahead of the print run to check you still want one and if so collect your payment.
MERCHANDISE
We are in the final steps of having an online shop setup to sell a few peices of merchandise such as t-shirts, hoodies, mugs & posters etc in order to help cover our costs (myself and 8BitBoyUK are having to cover costs ourselves)
As soon as we have final approvals etc we will open the shop and post the link here.
TROPHIES
We have finalised the look and style of the trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. We have had a prototype sample arrive and are happy with it so will look at ordering the trophies in the future and showing them here soon.
