The Tenure Track position will cover the interdisciplinary field of “Methodology and techniques from the Palaeolithic to the Neolithic” in its entire breadth, including the ritual, social, political, economic and cultural frameworks and associated social processes in Central Europe. Scholars working on the Palaeolithic and/or Mesolithic and/or Neolithic are invited to apply. Special emphasis will be placed on the application and further development of interdisciplinary methods and techniques for analysing raw materials and material culture. Relevant excavation experience should be demonstrated; planning and supervision of field schools (training excavations) is expected. The supervision and continued development of relevant collections of (stone) raw materials and artefacts from the Palaeolithic to the Neolithic is likewise expected. Additional experience with the application and interpretation of prospection methods is welcome.

Key responsibilities
For this position, we seek a generalist, an assistant professor who is able to teach general methodological/theoretical courses as well as more specific ones in both the BA and MA programmes of the faculty. The person will be collaborating closely and teach with the staff of the departments of Archaeological Sciences and Archaeological Heritage.
The successful candidate will undertake research on early farming societies of northwestern Europe, with links to both science and heritage and thereby contribute to the university research programme of "Resilient Societies" and the corresponding faculty research theme "Crafting Identities". We are specifically looking for a candidate with ideas on and strategies for linking archaeology to broader societal challenges.
Finally, the new assistant professor will be expected to contribute to the running of the faculty by participating in administrative and managerial tasks, commensurate with experience and level of appointment.
Selection criteria
- The department is seeking candidates who demonstrate excellence in teaching and research and who have already made their mark in the archaeology of European prehistory;
- The new colleague should be a team player with a collaborative, supportive and problem-solving attitude who is able to fit into and work in a multidisciplinary team. More specifically, we seek candidates with the following qualifications:
- A PhD in the archaeology of prehistoric Europe and two to four years of postdoctoral research experience in prehistoric archaeology;
- A strong research portfolio and the ability to develop into a research leader in the field;
- A successful track record in obtaining research funding and willing to prepare grant proposals for relevant funding schemes (e.g., ERC, Horizon Europe, NWO);
- Demonstrable teaching experience and willingness to further professionalize teaching skills;
- Excellent command of English. If the applicant does not speak Dutch, they will be expected to acquire a good command of Dutch, i.e. level B1, within two years of the start of the appointment;
- The candidate is willing to contribute to the success of the Faculty of Archaeology and will take on administrative tasks.
Leiden University requires teaching staff to obtain the University Teaching Qualification (UTQ). If the successful applicant does not already possess this qualification or its equivalent, they must be willing to obtain it within two years.

Terms and conditions
We offer a 1.0 fte position for a six-year term. Based on performance criteria agreed upon at the start of the appointment, a decision will be made by the fifth year whether to offer the assistant professor a permanent faculty position. Salary range from € 3637,- to € 4978,- gross per month (scale 11 in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities). Salary scale depends on education, experience and level of appointment.

Dans le cadre du développement de son activité, le bureau d'études Éveha recrute un spécialiste lithicien (h/f) – Agence de Troyes (10) ou Agence de Lille (59) ou Agence de Paris (94) – Contrat à durée indéterminée.
La société Éveha, bureau d’études et de valorisations archéologiques, est le principal opérateur privé en archéologie préventive. Ses prestations s’adressent à l’ensemble des personnes publiques ou privées souhaitant réaliser des opérations de fouille, d’étude archéologique ou de mise en valeur du patrimoine. Aujourd’hui, Éveha regroupe plus de 250 collaborateurs répartis sur 14 agences.
Spécialiste qui étudie le mobilier lithique et macro-lithique, dans le cadre d’opérations archéologiques préventives. Il/Elle contribue à la détermination de la chronologie et de la fonction des sites archéologiques.
MISSIONS :
Le/La lithicien(ne) en lien avec le responsable d’opération participera :
Sur le terrain:
- Mise en place de la stratégie de prélèvement.
- Enregistrement et échantillonnage du mobilier lithique et macro-lithique.
En post-fouille, il/elle réalisera l’ensemble des études lithiques :
- Inventaire du mobilier lithique et macro-lithique.
- Identification des matières premières et des gîtes d’approvisionnement.
- Identification des productions et des chaînes opératoires correspondantes.
- Analyse technologique et typologique.
- Analyses spatiales.
- Participe à l’élaboration du rapport final d’opération et à la publication des résultats d’études.
PROFIL :
Vous êtes spécialiste du mobilier lithique et/ou macro-lithique et vous disposez d’une bonne connaissance des contextes et problématiques régionaux sur le sujet, dans au moins une partie des territoires suivants : Bassin parisien, Nord, Champagne, Alsace-lorraine ; principalement pour le Néolithique, mais autres périodes bienvenues.
Vous avez une bonne expérience de terrain en archéologie préventive (maîtrise des techniques de fouilles stratigraphiques, enregistrement des données de terrain, relevé, …).
La connaissance des logiciels libres de type Calc, Inkscape et Gimp serait un plus.

Diplôme minimum requis : Master (Bac + 5) en Archéologie spécialiste en mobilier lithique et/ou macro-lithique ou expérience équivalente.

ARCHEOLOGUE SPECIALISTE DU NEOLITHIQUE (H/F)

Soucieux de définir une stratégie partagée face aux enjeux des territoires et institutions départementales, les Départements des Yvelines et des Hauts-de-Seine ont créé début 2016 un établissement public de coopération interdépartementale (EPI 78-92) ayant vocation à porter les politiques menées de concert entre les deux départements et les services chargés de leur mise en œuvre.
Depuis l'été 2016, l'EPI 78-92 intègre un Service archéologique qui étudie, protège et valorise le patrimoine archéologique des Yvelines et des Hauts-de-Seine (SAI 78-92). Ce nouveau service est le fruit de la réunion des deux anciens services archéologiques départementaux : le Service archéologique départemental des Yvelines, créé en 1978 (SADY), et le Service archéologique départemental des Hauts-de-Seine, créé en 2006 (SAD 92).
Installé à Montigny-le-Bretonneux, le SAI 78-92 est habilité par l'Etat en tant qu'opérateur public pour la réalisation des diagnostics et des fouilles préventives. Il est susceptible d'apporter une aide concrète aux divers aménageurs publics et privés et vise à assurer la visibilité de l'engagement des deux Départements envers la sauvegarde et l'étude de leur patrimoine archéologique. Doté de réserves et de personnels qualifiés, il conserve également des collections archéologiques des deux territoires et les met à disposition des publics lors d'actions de valorisation. Il offre un soutien aux projets culturels et pédagogiques traitant du patrimoine archéologique des communes des deux départements.
MISSIONS :
Sous la direction du chef de service, vous mettrez en œuvre le projet scientifique et culturel du service dans votre domaine de compétence.
ACTIVITES :
En qualité de responsable scientifique d’opérations d’archéologie préventive, vous
- Encadrez une équipe pour conduire les phases terrain et post-fouilles et rédigez les rapports d’opération à destination de l’Etat.
- Assurez la coordination avec les différents partenaires et publiez les résultats scientifiques.
- Participez à l’ensemble des autres missions du service (recherche, carte archéologique interdépartementale et valorisation notamment) ainsi qu’à la conception et la mise à jour des outils de suivi d’activités.
PROFIL :
Titulaire d’un diplôme de niveau master spécialité Archéologie, vous avez de l’expérience de conduite d’opérations archéologiques (préventives et programmées) ainsi que dans l’utilisation des outils de système d’information géographique (SIG), de DAO et de gestion de bases de données.
Vous possédez de solides connaissances des problématiques et des résultats actuels concernant le Néolithique.
Vous avez la capacité à mettre en œuvre une démarche de recherche scientifique, à encadrer et motiver une équipe, organiser et autonome.
Vous avez l’esprit de synthèse et d’analyse et savez faire preuve d’initiative.
Vous avez une ouverture d’esprit et une qualité d’écoute.
