Welcome on the website of the IUPPS commission Neolithic Civilizations of the Mediterranean and Europe.
The commission "Neolithic Civilizations of the Mediterranean and Europe" aims to federate researchers working on the first agricultural societies of the Mediterranean and European space. The topics studied are very diverse: historiography, emergence, development, dissemination, evolution of Neolithic societies and economies, technological approaches, palaeoenvironmental restitutions and anthropic activities, social organizations, housing structures, funerary modes, productions, ritual and symbolic practices, etc. The commission organizes at least one symposium at each major congress. In the interval between two congresses, it arouses and sponsors symposia with a general or specialized theme concerning the Neolithic cultures of the Mediterranean and Europe.
This site aims to quickly disseminate information (discoveries, publications, seminars and symposia, etc.) concerning Neolithic archeology in the Mediterranean and Europe.

Bienvenue sur le site web de la commission Civilisations néolithiques de la Méditerranée et de l'Europe de l'UISPP.
La commission "Civilisations néolithiques de la Méditerranée et de l'Europe" a pour objectif de fédérer les chercheurs travaillant sur les premières sociétés agricoles de l'espace méditerranéen et européen. Les thèmes étudiés sont très divers: historiographie, émergence, développement, diffusion, évolution des sociétés et des économies néolithiques, approches technologiques, restitutions paléoenvironnementales et activités anthropiques, organisations sociales, structures d'habitat, modes funéraires, productions, pratiques rituelles et symboliques, etc. La commission organise au moins un colloque lors de chaque grand congrès. Dans l'intervalle entre deux congrès, elle suscite et parraine des colloques à thématique générale ou spécialisée concernant les cultures néolithiques de la Méditerranée et de l'Europe.
Ce site a pour but de diffuser rapidement de l'information (découvertes, publications, séminaires et colloques, etc.) concernant l'archéologie néolithique en Méditerranée et en Europe.

The general theme of the congress is:
EVOLUTION OF THE HUMAN SOCIETIES OF PREHISTORY
AND TO PROTOHISTORY
A unifying theme that will include several sub-themes to be proposed by the various scientific commissions.The other themes will be developed in the form of several sessions (see the complete list of sessions on the right)
The schedule of the sessions and the list of communications will be communicated to you in due course.
The duration of the communications is 15 to 20 minutes, including questions. The posters will be presented in electronic format only and published on the site. They will be able to be briefly presented in the sessions, according to the organizers' decision.
