Grand Challenges: Engineer the tools for scientific discovery (Tools), Advance Personalized Learning (Personalized Learning)
About Me: My interest in the Grand Challenge Scholars Program started when my friend Kenny Sheffler (LinkedIn) told me about it. The fact that you can focus on something of your interest and work towards making change while progressing yourself along the way intrigued me.
From a young age, I have always been interested in space. Seeing my classes 6th grade science experiment being conducted on the International Space Station added fuel to fire this passion. I want to engineer the tools and practices for scientific discovery as we move further into universe.
Both of my parents are teachers and I have seen impacts of good teaching but also the amount of work we must do to move our education forwards. I want to personalize learning using my teams Trash2Gas kits and impact future citizens about sustainability and waste management.
