As we celebrate three successful cohorts of the Undergraduates Gaining Research Opportunities for the Cancer Workforce (U-GROW) program, we invite you to be a vital part of shaping the future of cancer research. By donating to U-GROW, you contribute to empowering promising college students from communities disproportionately affected by cancer health disparities. Your generosity today paves the way for a more equitable tomorrow in the fight against cancer.
Three Levels of Giving:
Expanding Horizons - $10,000
With a $10,000 donation, your support empowers students to explore their potential in the field of cancer research with the opportunity to attend a conference to present their research.
Championing Equity through Access - $40,000:
With a $40,000 donation, you support offers vital training, housing, and meals for our Scholars at the week-long Summer Institute. This training propels Scholars toward impactful careers in cancer research. Students are recruited from all eight CSU in the greater Los Angeles area, including Channel Islands, San Bernardino, and Long Beach and drive up to 50 miles to participate in research internships.
Catalyzing Diversity and Inclusion - $100,000:
At the $100,000 giving level, you make a substantial investment in promoting health equity. This donation provides support directly to our Scholars by funding summer internships salaries at Cedars-Sinai.
Donors will receive important updates on nonprofit activities, impacts, and forthcoming initiatives in addition to acknowledgement of their support on the U-GROW website and special events.
Why Your Support Matters:
Building a Diverse Pipeline: Your donation supports the recruitment and development of CSU undergraduate students of diverse backgrounds from all eight Greater Los Angeles CSUs (Cal Poly Pomona, Channel Islands, Dominguez Hills, Fullerton, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Northridge, and San Bernardino) to promote a more inclusive healthcare field, which in turn improves patient outcomes.
Empowering Future Scientists: U-GROW focuses on providing opportunities for students who may face barriers to entry in the world of cancer research. Your support helps break down these barriers, empowering individuals who may not otherwise have access to such transformative experiences.
Creating Lasting Impact: By contributing to U-GROW, you play a key role in creating a sustainable impact. Your support ensures that the program can continue to thrive, accepting cohorts of students in subsequent years, and leaving a legacy of positive change.
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible.
Thank you for being a crucial part of our mission.
