June 2-6, 2026: Summer Institute at Cedars-Sinai's South Campus. Note that in-person attendance at each day of the Summer Institute is a required component of U-GROW, so applicants who anticipate a scheduling conflict are advised to apply another year.

Sept. 2026- Apr. 2027: Monthly Scientific Communication Workshops (via Zoom)

In this 10-minute video, U-GROW's program mentors will walk you through the purpose, components, and application process for applying to U-GROW for Cohort 5 (interning in summer of 2026). If you have questions after watching the video, please feel free to either attend a Q&A session on Zoom or get in touch.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for COHORT 5
We welcome applications from students who meet the following criteria:
CSU juniors, seniors, and recent graduates (if you graduated in Spring 2024 or later, you are eligible; if you graduated before Spring 2024, you are ineligible) from one of the following LA-area CSU campuses:
Cal Poly Pomona
Channel Islands
Dominguez Hills
Fullerton
Los Angeles
Long Beach
Northridge
San Bernardino
Not accepted to a graduate program at the time of applying
Good academic standing (minimum GPA of 3.0)
Strong communication and organizational skills
An interest in learning about cancer disparities and cancer prevention research is required; research experience is NOT required
