This is the letter written by Francesca Guy to The British Consulate General Milan about getting dual citizenship after Brexit
Dear Sirs,
I am writing because I wanted to express my concern about future consequences Brexit will have on my university studies and, in general, on my future choices. I am seventeen years old and I am an Italian student living and studying in Friuli Venezia Giulia, in Italy, and currently attending my third year at Liceo “Le Filandiere” in San Vito al Tagliamento (PN). I have lived in the UK for nine years and my father, Antony Guy, has an English passport. However, I have not dual citizenship, for I was born in Italy, so I only have an Italian passport. I was wondering if it is possible for me to ask for the dual citizenship and which steps I should follow. What will your policy be due to the Brexit transitional period from 2018 to 2020?
I very much look forward to receiving your response to my request.
Yours sincerely,
Francesca Guy
