UC Novato recognizes college is a big step in every students life, so we have answered a few questions that are frequently asked by future, prospective and current students.
"Once accepted into UC Novato, how long does it take to receive a financial aid package?"
Financial aid is NOT a guarantee for every student. We at UC Novato take a different approach to aid, with students that family's income make up more than $900,000 a year receiving the most aid. We find that students who families make more money are generally more hard working than families with lower incomes, so we give them more aid. For these students, in a similar fashion to daddy's tax write offs, portions of the UC Novato tuition can be written off with purchases of designer clothing, as part of our mission to have a school image that encourages competition and toxic relationships between students, that will leave UC Novato's mark deep into their lack of self confidence. As Lebron James once said "Hate breeds innovation", and as Bill Gates once said "I f*cking hate poor people".
"My student is not as interested in academic processes as they are the social life of the college experience. Does UC Novato offer this?
Yes, UC Novato has an incredible party scene, especially for a university of our size. UC Novato is proud to have more than 98% of our students in greek life. Here are a few comments from our students about the party scene at UC Novato:
"I love parties, the girls, the dudes, the beer, the food, the cheer, everything about UC Novato's social scene. Everything makes me just want to say... WHOOOOOOOO" - Sophia Lopez
"I love the diversity in age at the parties. Former alumni and current students doing the worm at the frat house, I love it! - Demarcus Christopher P.
¨What is the safety in and around UC Novato´s campus like? Should my student be worried about walking alone, or of petty crime?¨
At UC Novato, safety is our #1 priority. We are proud to be ranked #189th in safest cities in California (per HUD) , with our campus having over 10 police stationed spread around. Our students often feel more safe on the UC Novato campus than they do at home, and we are so happy to build such a welcoming and homey environment for our students.
¨What does it mean to be waitlisted after applying to UC Novato?¨
First of all, congratulations on being waitlisted at UC Novato. UC Novato approaches waitlists differently than other schools in the United States, opting to give students hope of being admitted, and then returning there waitlist offer as a denial. This system promotes the hard reality of rejection, and hopes to build our 18-25 year old demographic bracket into stronger men and women. Of the average 20,000 waitlist offers that students receive each year, we admit almost 20 into the fall class, an extremely competitive environment.
"My child is extremely gifted and amazing, what are they chances they are accepted into the next class at UC Novato?"
We at UC Novato understand the stress and common confusion about the college admissions process. Each year, a different amount of students are admitted into the university, but common data suggests the following . . .
no
¨Does UC Novato provide housing for all first year students, or is the possibility of off campus housing inevitable?¨
UC Novato, being such a vibrant and engaging campus environment makes housing competitive, even for first year admits. We provide housing for nearly 30% of our freshman class each with, with sophomores, seniors, and juniors receiving no housing. When accepting admission into UC Novato, you will fill out the housing application, and then receive a notice of housing, or rejection of housing approx. 2 weeks after applying. If you are not given housing, we provide discounted rates for super 8, and Hilton hotels. If a student chooses to live off campus in a motel (with a student discount), students can expect to pay approx. $25,000 a year on housing. If a student does receive housing, our wide selections of dorms vary from sextuplet, quad, and single rooms, as well as views of Mt. Novato and the Great Novato River.
¨Are certain majors more competitive at UC Novato? Does choice of major affect admissions chances?¨
UC Novato believes in the idea that major should NOT affect admissions chances. Our university is already very competitive, so making admissions major specific would only make UC Novato is more unreachable for prospective students.
