Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) refers to protective clothing, glasses/goggles, headwear, footwear and other garments designed to protect the user from hazards. PPE is required for certain SCC operations, including but not limited to the use of portable/stationary power tools, compressed air, and/or chemicals.
See the EH&S Facts: Personal Protective Equipment for a brief summary of each and when they should be used.
In AY 2021 - 2022, please be mindful of policies regarding COVID 19 which change frequently. We encourage student organizations to practice 'more-safe' behavior to reduce the potential of students catching the virus. Please refer to campus guidelines here: https://covid-19.ucla.edu/
It is the responsibility of your organization to secure the necessary Personal Protective Equipment necessary for your activities. Not having the appropriate PPE during activities will result in shutting the activity down until the necessary PPE is acquired and used.
Here are some vendors that supply PPE:
McMaster Carr
Grainger
Office Depot
Facemasks and hand sanitizer are available for each employee/student reporting to campus. Students can request face masks for themselves here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdHqFmKQjZfulaom2PzfpAfnYFsIqEw3Cg8H0QBHsGkP8HfzA/viewform.
If Student Organizations want to keep a small quantity of disposable face masks in their rooms in the event that someone forgets; then, you can view the “donated items” catalog for the EH&S PPE Supply Store: https://www.ehs.ucla.edu/ucla-emergency-ppe-supply-store. These items are available free of charge since they were donated to the university. Hand sanitizer is also available there.
