All of the results on these pages were made possible by our collaboration on particle physics experiments at CERN. Yet Ireland is not even an associate member-state of CERN. Consequently, Irish students can not be trained at CERN, Irish companies can not bid for contracts, and Irish researchers can not take positions at CERN. That we are able to collaborate at all is testament to the openness of the scientific community and the compassion shown by other nations to our predicament. For more details on Ireland and CERN, see the dedicated CERN-Ireland web pages.
