Owner's Hall of Fame

The Owner's Hall of Fame is based off of a Bill James metric that he developed to measure the "Hall of Fame worthiness" of a given manager's career. In an article that was published on BillJamesOnline, he outlined the basics of the metric and explained that a score of 100 indicates a manager who should be elected to the Hall of Fame but added the caveat that they might not get elected even if they deserve it.

I have used (most of) his formula to calculate the scores of a number of owners across several worlds, and come to the conclusion that achieving a score of 160.15 points will automatically qualify the owner for induction into the Owner's Hall of Fame for that given world. Since we're just getting going here in UBA/Fisk, I figured I'd start that calculation here as well. Here's a quick overview of how the scores are calculated as well as the results from Season 1:

  • 40 wins = 1 point

  • 10 games over .500 = 1 point

  • Division Title = 3 points

  • Pennant = 6 points

  • World Series Title = 9 points
