STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS - Iceland
In this LTA we will focus on Human Rights and cultural diversity
Specific attention will be focused on bullying and cyber-bulling - was carried out between LTA's during Covid
Stereotypes and tolerance of diversity
PRESENTATIONS
HISTORY OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN OUR COUNTRIES
Short introduction of school and country, specific things about country, food, dance, traditions, music, etc.
Presentation of the history of: 1. Women's rights and 2. LGBT rights
Short reading from some famous author about human right (excerpts from books -this will be done on eTwinnng Platform) -_____
In this topic we will focus on cultural diversity, respect of people's cultural origins
Awareness about specific human rights issues affecting young people

Cultural diversity: respect for people’s cultural origins and fighting against racism and xenophobia
Inclusion: ensuring that young people with fewer opportunities get access to youth programmes of the European Union.
Topics: discrimination and non-discrimination
GROUP DISCUSSION - which engages the students in a process of critical reflection.
Students will have the opportunity to talk about what they experienced, reflect on their behaviour and in relation to human right values
Participating in an activity (concrete experience) followed by a group discussion (critical reflection) helps to build in the students an awareness of human rights values and reinforces positive behaviours based on these values (action).

However, human rights cannot be implemented through legal processes alone. Human rights are best respected, protected and appreciated when all of us understand them, stand up for them and apply them in our actions.
Outcomes
Our aim is for students to be aware of their rights and the rights of others. Catagories of rights.
Further we want to cultivate YOUNG PEOPLE to make moral choices, take principled positions on issues SO AS TO develop moral and intellectual integrity”.4
