Twin Oaks Elementary School

Twin Oaks Elementary is a neighborhood school founded in 1972, located within the East Baton Rouge Parish School District. As a dynamic school dedicated to academic excellence, we provide a comprehensive education that fosters the growth of the whole child.

Twin Oaks Elementary serves students from Pre-K to 5th grade. Our diverse and inclusive learning environment offers English language learning support, STEM and graphic arts programs, and a variety of after-school activities including soccer, basketball, and track. Additionally, our traveling student choir, open to grades 4-5, gives students the opportunity to showcase their talents. We emphasize the importance of service and leadership through programs like The Gentlemen of Character and Girls with PEARLS, which recognize select 5th-grade students who take part in campus initiatives and model positive behavior. 

Twin Oaks Elementary actively encourages community partnerships and focuses on project-based learning for all grade levels. Our school-wide PBIS program highlights character education, promoting positive behavior and a strong sense of community.

Celebrating Our Success and Growth

Our dedication to excellence and continuous improvement has led to significant results:

• 2023: Twin Oaks was recognized as a LDOE Top Gains School, achieving an SPS of 71.4 (a significant increase that positioned us within reach of a B rating). That year, we were also honored to receive the School Empowerment through Economic Diversity (SEED) grant, which enabled us to become an Innovative School by focusing on student interests and inviting the community to actively participate in school life.

• 2024: Our school was recognized, for the second year in a row, as a LDOE Top Gains School, showing continued academic momentum.

• 2025: A Year of Historic Achievement! We are thrilled to announce that Twin Oaks Elementary has officially been designated a B school! This milestone is a testament to the hard work of our students, staff, and families. Furthermore, we achieved dual recognition from the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE):

  • For the third year in a row, we earned the Top Gains Honoree status, recognizing our sustained and significant academic growth.

  • For the first time, we were recognized as an Opportunity Honoree, celebrating our success in closing achievement gaps and ensuring all students have equitable access to high-quality instruction and success.
