Recognizing the reduced racial and ethnic diversity of both the Maine Track program and the state of Maine itself, as well as the challenges that accompany being a person of color in this environment, the Maine Track BIPOC Affinity Group aims to establish a safe, inclusive space for Maine Trackers of underrepresented backgrounds to find community in.
We acknowledge that as people-of-color, certain preconceptions may be and have been thrust upon us by both patients and providers alike. This group creates a safe space to voice our concerns to compassionate ears, organize potential response options, and feel supported in doing so.
