Office of Student Affairs
The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) provides guidance, support, and administrative assistance to medical students and is a great place to visit with any questions you may have while attending Tufts University School of Medicine. The office coordinates important events including Orientation, White Coat Ceremony, Match Day, and Commencement activities. The OSA also acts as a liaison to faculty and administration, assists with academic advising and personal counseling, and coordinates the residency application process.
Office of Educational Affairs
The Office of Educational Affairs (OEA) is responsible for the medical education program, including curricular development, evaluation and assessment; centralized management of the curriculum; overseeing and administering educational grants; supporting the teaching faculty through faculty development programs; providing administrative support for education-related faculty committees; and scheduling space for classes, conferences, and meetings on the Health Sciences campus.
Office of the Registrar
A principal responsibility of the Registrar's Office is creating and maintaining each student's permanent academic file. In addition to responsibilities listed above the office is responsible for tracking grades received, tracking student status changes, tuition assessment and verification, USMLE application certification, administering end of clerkship exams, managing locker assignments in the Medical Education Building for the 1st and 2nd year students, producing enrollment and other various statistics. We also handle all transcript requests and state licensure paperwork for graduates of the medical school.
Office of Student Wellness
The Office of Student Wellness (OSW) provides integrated wellness programs, services, and resources to the Boston Health Sciences students at Tufts University. The Student Wellness team works with all students to offer practical approaches to manage everyday stresses and life challenges. OSW provides confidential and private advice for personal challenges and makes referrals for therapy/psychiatric care as needed for students who may need support for depression, anxiety, or other mental health concerns. The Office of Student Wellness offers wellness opportunities that are inclusive and promotes a culture that supports the personal development and academic successes of all students. These wellness opportunities aim to foster and support the mental, physical, and emotional health of students. Prevention is the cornerstone for maintaining optimal health and is part of OSW’s holistic approach to health and wellness.
Office of Multicultural Affairs
We support the mission of Tufts University School of Medicine and the Tufts Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences with respect to their diversity missions.
Office of Financial Aid
The Office of Financial Aid assists students in the MD, Public Health, Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, Biomedical Science programs as well as those attending the Friedman School of Nutrition. The Office of Financial Aid determines eligibility, provides loan counseling and debt management, advocates on behalf of students, assists with outside scholarship resources, helps create budgets and provides financial literacy education on a variety of topics.
Office of Admissions
The MD Office of Admissions handles admisisons into the MD program and the Maine Track program. For MD Dual Degree programs, applicants will be initially reviewed for admission to the traditional MD program. Applicants who receive an Offer of Admission to the MD program, will then be considered for the dual degree program by that program's Admissions Subcommittee.
Office of the Deans
The Office of the Dean is responsible for the academic and administrative functions of Tufts University School of Medicine, including overseeing the School’s academic departments, the teaching and research enterprises, student services, and campus buildings and facilities. The primary responsibilities of the Office of the Dean include financial and strategic planning, resource allocation, faculty recruitment, interface with clinical partners, and other management responsibilities related to the function of a large and diverse medical school.
