The Preble Street Alliance (PSA) connects Maine Track students with Preble Street—a human services anti-poverty agency in Maine. We provide students with the opportunity to directly work with vulnerable populations in Maine and to make a difference in their lives. PSA works in partnership with Preble Street—a human services anti-poverty agency in Maine. Maine Track students have a variety of opportunities to serve the vulnerable populations in Maine, whether at the homeless shelter, the soup kitchen, as part of their teen program, Residents at Preble Street Housing First sites are the most vulnerable members of our Portland population and Maine Track students aim to foster positive social engagement and healthy relationship building. Our primary volunteer roles have been in meals programs both at Preble, Florence House (women’s shelter), and their teen program. There are also opportunities to volunteer with Preble Street independently, outside of organized opportunities, for CSL hours.
