Tufts Human Rights and Asylum Clinic (THRAC) is an organization dedicated to providing essential services to individuals seeking asylum in Maine. By bringing together legal expertise, medical knowledge, and the dedication of students, THRAC aims to provide forensic medical and psychological evaluations to those navigating the asylum process. Our mission is centered on collaboration and partnership, recognizing the crucial role that each stakeholder plays in addressing the needs of asylum seekers. Through these collaborative efforts, we strive to uphold the principles of human rights and ensure that individuals fleeing persecution receive the necessary support to pursue safety and justice. Additionally, our goal at THRAC is to provide training opportunities to increase the number of certified evaluators, thereby expanding our capacity to meet the demands of the growing community of asylum seekers in Maine. We are dedicated to conducting thorough and accurate assessments to support asylum applications. Through this training initiative, THRAC is committed to building a sustainable infrastructure to effectively address the needs of asylum seekers in the long term.
