To educate medical undergraduate students about the scope of Family Medicine (FM), its relationship with and distinction from other medical fields, and practical aspects of a career in FM (such as the structure and content of the residency, the range of practice settings, and the diversity of practice opportunities, such as obstetrics, sports medicine, geriatrics, etc.) While seeking to cultivate interest in FMIG, we also host events and speakers on the social justice issues central to primary care (housing, incarceration, immigration). As we all learn more about the field, and ourselves, we will connect with local mentors (practicing physicians) and travel to the annual AAFP or other FM conferences, such as the STFM (Society of Teachers of Family Medicine) Northeast regional conference.Â
